From 2020, to celebrate the 10 years of its sustainability plan and develop it further, Desmet Ballestra Spa - Mazzoni LB Soap will be offering its customers the opportunity to compensate for the emissions related to the execution of every project. In the early phase of each new project, the Mazzoni team, with the support of Treedom, will estimate the CO2 emissions related to the transportation of equipment to site as well as the travelling of its technicians, and will offer its customers the opportunity to offset these emissions by planting new trees in its forests.To support this initiative and encourage its customers to participate, Mazzoni has made a commitment to plant a minimum of 1,000 trees in 2020 in the forests distributed over 4 continents. In particular, 10 trees will be donated for every new project initiated in 2020. Every customer will be able to choose where to plant these trees, in one of the Mazzoni forests developed by Treedom.

Desmet Ballestra Spa - Mazzoni Lb Soap, part of the Desmet Ballestra group since 2017, is the world leader in the design and supply of plants and machinery for the production of soap and glycerine, with a market share exceeding 60%. Founded in 1946, it has supplied over 6,000 plants and machinery in more than 100 countries.In 2010, Mazzoni LB initiated a long-term sustainability plan with the aim of continuously reducing the environmental impact of its operations, as well as that of its customers operating plants and machinery based on its technologies.In 2020, the latest generation of plants guarantees zero effluents and a utilities consumption reduced by over 75%. With over 100 plants installed over the last decade, the environmental impact of those developments is incalculable.Alongside these technological developments, Mazzoni has invested heavily to reduce the emissions of its buildings and operations, cutting its own consumption by over 75%. Key projects completed include a new rooftop solar plant, granting full electric self-sufficiency, 100% led lighting, a new high-efficiency heating &amp; cooling system, gradual replacement of the fossil fuel fleet with electric vehicles.
