Adopt a Tree

Adopt a Tree
from INNO4CFIs

Nature-Based Business Model and Emerging Innovations to enhance Carbon Farming Initiatives while preserving Biodiversity, Water Security and Soil Health.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Technology Meets
Nature

At INNO4CFIs, we leverage advanced technology and nature-based solutions to drive meaningful environmental change. Our commitment to innovation ensures that our reforestation and agroforestry projects deliver measurable, long-term impacts on carbon sequestration.

You can now directly support our mission by adopting a tree at one of our 4 European pilot sites. Through Treedom's platform, you will receive a photo of your tree and regular updates on the results emerging from the research.

Verifiable Impact

Carbon Sequestration

Our agroforestry projects deliver measurable, long-term impacts on carbon capture and storage in living ecosystems.

Water Security

Advanced monitoring and precision irrigation systems protect water resources across diverse European climates.

Soil Health

Restoring soil microbiomes and organic matter through scientifically-proven reforestation methodologies.

Why to support Carbon Farming in EU

Empowerment Through Innovation

Deploying cutting-edge agroforestry technologies — from precision drip irrigation to satellite and UAV monitoring — that give farmers tools to measure the success of their carbon farming initiatives.

Sustainable Growth

Building nature-based business models that align economic returns with ecological outcomes — turning carbon sequestration, biodiversity corridors and soil regeneration into long-term revenue for land owners.

Community Resilience

Embedding local communities, cooperatives and regional authorities in every Living Hub — ensuring that the social fabric of each territory grows stronger alongside its ecosystems and land-using practices.

This diffused hub spans two climatic zones. Montieri is a mountainous area focusing on regenerating abandoned chestnut forests with mixed fruit and forest species. Follonica serves as the project's reference site, testing all innovative technologies on a flat agricultural field.

The strategy here involves high-tech experimental planting of olive and cypress trees to study their resilience under different irrigation regimes, including the use of solar-powered desalinated water.

Castrillo de la Guareña

Spain

Located on an ancient plateau with a harsh, dry continental climate, this site faces significant unevenness and low rainfall. The agroforestry strategy centers on a 3-hectare plantation of approximately 3,000 Arbequina olive trees.

These are protected by a perimeter of oaks and poplars, acting as windbreaks. The system uses state-of-the-art drip irrigation powered by photovoltaic energy, intercropping cereals like rye to optimize land and water use.

Situated on a 2-hectare former dredging dump, this marginal site is characterized by potential phytotoxicity from metal elements and organic contaminants. The strategy adopted by this site differs from traditional agroforestry, as it focuses on phytomanagement.

Specific trees and shrubs are selected for their ability to stabilize soil and accumulate pollutants while sequestering carbon. Real-time soil sensors monitor dynamics to prove carbon farming's viability on brownfields.

This site focuses on restoring a 4-hectare area severely degraded by 2021 forest fires. The agroforestry plan combines three Greek olive varieties (Koroneiki, Kolovi, Kalamon) with cypress trees along the northern border as extreme weather barriers.

Due to a lack of external water, the strategy includes an sub-surface rainwater harvesting system and collection basin. Vicia plants are intercropped as green manure to restore soil nitrogen levels.
