Before the advent of specialized monoculture, the rule of agriculture was different species sharing the same land. This allowed positive interaction, for example, between horticultural and tree species. Not only that, but it allowed for diversification of available food sources. Planting trees on land dedicated to agriculture is at the heart of our work and allows precisely for better food security for farmers and their families.

 In our projects we try to develop the potential of communities by putting economic resources, tree power and our know-how at their service. In this way we can initiate profound changes. We work with communities that sometimes face more or less overt discrimination. Gender, ethnic, social or other types of discrimination. The goal is to overcome all prejudice and make a contribution for long-term changes.

Not just food resources, the fruits of so many trees can be traded on local circuits and generate not insignificant income opportunities. In some cases they can even be the basis of small business ventures. Trees benefit biodiversity, the waters of places they grow in and the atmosphere of the entire planet. This is the subscription to maximise these very benefits.

 Trees provide vital habitats for many species of animals and plants, and their roots also create favourable microclimates for a wide range of soil organisms. Their presence increases the availability of food for wildlife. Not only that, but trees are home to a variety of fungi, lichens and mosses, as well as epiphytic plants such as orchids. This is how trees increase the overall diversity of the ecosystems in which they are found.

Biodiversity

Trees owe their existence to water. But the relationship between trees and water is actually more complex than that and is based on a mutual exchange in which trees, yes, owe water for their existence, but they reciprocate in many ways.
