The Forest
On 6th May 2023, His Majesty the King was crowned, building on the legacy of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. The British Embassy in Rome and the British Consulate General in Milan have organised a variety of events and activities aimed at highlighting the ‘Best of Britain’, as well as celebrating the UK-Italy cooperation through the shared values that underpin our countries’ success. The King’s Birthday Parties in Rome and Milan are themed around the King’s personal interests, including sustainability, diversity, youth and community. They will showcase the best of the UK around food and beverage, culture, tradition, creativity and innovation, while celebrating our flourishing relationship with Italy. The British Embassy in Rome and the British Consulate General in Milan participate in the initiative thanks to the partnership with Treedom. The company will donate over 200 trees that will be planted in developing countries. We invite all guests and UK friends in Italy to make it thrive with us!
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
