The Forest
The motto behind this forest project is "We go the extra mile." To be specific, this means that, although we have been making sure that the cellulose for our filter sheets is sourced from sustainably managed forests for a long time now, we feel we want to do more. We want to go the extra mile and make a voluntary contribution to sustainable, greener development. Together we will be establishing a company forest over the coming years. For every kilogram of cellulose used for filter media, we will re-plant twice that amount as trees. This will make our main raw material not only climate-neutral, but actually climate-positive. Tree, by tree, this undertaking will mean we are doing something really worthwhile – and we will be doing this in close cooperation with our business partners and customers. The more customers get on board with us, the bigger our company forest will become, and the greater the effect will be in terms of lowering CO2 levels in the atmosphere. This is our small contribution to preserving the global ecosystem.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
