The Forest
Protecting biodiversity in the countries where we grow cocoa is an urgent priority today. Hence our collaboration with Treedom. Academic studies show that complex agroforestry systems are particularly favorable to cocoa cultivation. For this reason, in the territories where we operate, we grow our cocoa plants in plots of land alongside banana trees, coconut palms and other fruit plants. In this way we contribute to the enrichment of the soil and ensure greater resilience of plants to climate change, also favoring the absorption of a greater amount of CO2.The ICAM forest integrates perfectly with our philosophy: Chocolate by nature, chocolate from nature, with nature.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
The trees in the forest will absorb:
177.25 t* of CO₂
