The Forest
XMAS2021.This year Litocartotecnica Pigni will celebrate Christmas by planting a forest of 200 trees and donating them to all customers, suppliers, employees and collaborators.The forest will grow in Haiti and will be built in partnership with Treedom, the first web platform that allows you to plant trees remotely and follow the history of the project they are part of.At Pigni we have a culture aimed at sustainability for the production of our packaging which is expressed in the rational use of resources, in choosing recycled materials or materials from PEFC or FSC certified forests, in reducing emissions and in our strategy to make more and more "green" products. The forest becomes part of our global commitment, with which we have intended to respond to the input from the United Nations, which invite not only governments and individuals, but also companies to play an active role in the challenge against climate change.The forest will produce both social and environmental benefits. It is estimated that the 200 trees will make it possible to absorb around 47 tons of Co2 from the atmosphere over 10 years. The forestry project also consists of a combination of stem and fruit species created according to the needs of the territory. The project will involve about 11 farmers who will take care of the management and of the forest, right as from its planting.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
