The Forest
Sustainability is part of UniCredit's DNA and a key component to our business model as we aim to invest into a more sustainable future. The aim of the “UniCredit Group Forest” project is to offset CO2 emissions by planting trees around the world, in the name of the UniCredit Group (and all its employees). Therefore we decided to plant thousands of trees within the next 10 years. This leads to an offset of CO2 emissions (approximately 40,500 tons). The execution of this project underlines the seriousness of the topic and UniCredits commitment to have a positive impact on the environment.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
The trees in the forest will absorb:
20,550 t* of CO₂
