The Forest
Living and working with the least possible environmental impact is a key goal for each of us — companies and individuals alike.
For those who, like Uno Contract, work in an industry where timber is an important resource, the opportunities to contribute to fighting climate change are many. Our first objective is manufacturing our furniture in an environmentally responsible way. We source our suppliers carefully and only use wood from sustainably managed forests.
By starting our company forest in Tanzania, which will begin gradually and grow over time, we have chosen to take a little step further. Planting trees is an act with many long-term positive consequences, on our planet’s ecosystem but also on the local one and on the livelihood of the farmers who work there.
Our most recent CSR activities have been in the fields of culture and sports, to the benefit of the community in our own city: Venice. Today, we are starting an initiative that’s based in an African country but looks at the entire planet. Even so, we have chosen to call our forest “Venezia”: as any tree in the world knows very well, roots are important!
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
The trees in the forest will absorb:
57.55 t* of CO₂
