The Forest
Sustainability is a keyword for Way Out West and has been since our start in 2007. As a festival promoter and inhabitants of the earth, it’s our responsibility to raise these issues and strive to always be better. This is something we work with on a daily basis in all aspects of the festival.The climate issue is more important than it has ever been and we need a genuine and honest change – this is why we been vegetarian since 2012 and became the world’s first climate transparent festival in 2019. Together with Treedom and our visitors we hope to join forces and to green the planet together.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
