The Forest
Acquired by Baxter in 1971, the Sesto Fiorentino plant has evolved over the years into a true industrial compounding pharmacy, achieving the highest standards of Safety and Quality.Today, the site employs more than 120 people and represents an international center of excellence for the preparation of sterile solutions in flexible containers, supporting home nutritional therapy and hospital chemotherapy. In particular, the Sesto plant provides nutritional therapy to home patients, guaranteeing continuity of care, quality of treatment, and safety directly to people in their own living environments. This leadership is confirmed by the authorization granted by the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA): the plant was the first in Italy authorized to manufacture and test prescription sterile medicines in the form of liquid preparations for parenteral use produced under aseptic conditions. Thanks to ongoing collaboration with specialized centers, as well as with doctors and pharmacists from leading Italian oncological institutes, we guarantee the availability of oncology therapies, simplifying preparation and reducing exposure for hospital pharmacy staff. At the heart of everything are people, their know-how, and their dedication: every day, we help transform innovation, expertise, and responsibility into a tangible impact on patient care, in line with Baxter's mission: to save and sustain lives.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
