In this occasion Citterio inaugurates its own forest which represent another significant contribution to the planet.&nbsp; This is an engagement that Citterio started some years ago because it wants that sustainably becomes one of the company’s key value. For 20 years Citterio is embracing every aspect of sustainably and innovation: packaging, production processes and raw materials. The company is involved in different projects concerning animal welfare: it is investing in its own breeding farms; it constantly tries to improve the environmental impact of its production sites and processes in order to optimize the efficiency by reducing consumption. At last, the company pays attention to the packing development through the use of recyclable materials with less plastic.</p><p>Citterio Green range makes another step towards this direction. CITTERIO GREEN

<p>Citterio is a family company and today it is led by the fifth and the sixth generation of the family. The company was born in 1878 by the young butcher Giuseppe Citterio, who invented a unique recipe to produce and preserve pork meat following his original recipe, the Salame Milano’s one, which then became famous all over the world. The whole company history, from the very beginning, has always been characterized by a strong vocation to innovation. For Citterio, innovation develops through the ability of facing all sustainability’s aspects: energy efficiency; energy and heat recovery which are the basis of production sites; a strong reduction of the quantity of plastic in packaging materials and the commitment towards animal welfare. Citterio now counts 8 sites in Italy and 2 in USA. Its products are exported to more than 50 countries in world. A long history, made of achievements and passion, a careful selection of the raw materials, a traditional production and the respect of the traditional lands; all this is the result of the constant effort to bring together tradition and technologies in a perfect balance in order to bring on the consumer’s table a product with a unique taste and aroma.<br></p>
