Berta: a family, a territory. This is the philosophy that has guided the company's choices and work for four generations, translating into territorial culture, passion, dedication and the desire to convey the philosophy through the grappas that we make.&nbsp;The splendid setting of the Monferrato hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to the distillery where we make our grappa, with four ageing cellars occupying a total of over 3000 square metres, in which thousands of barrels and barriques made with different types of wood are stored, containing the fine vintages of Grappa Invecchiata.The first aged grappas (grappe invecchiate) were created by Paolo Berta, who had established the distilling business in 1947. Thanks to his intuition and the entrepreneurial courage of his sons Gianfranco and Enrico, the company is becoming more and more successful in Italy and around the world. Today, production stands at 600,000 bottles a year, sold in over 70 countries.Berta is more than just grappa, it also produces delicious and characteristic Amaretti di Mombaruzzo and provides hospitality in two dedicated locations: Villa Castelletto and Villa Prato, an 18th century residence opened in 2016 as a relais de charme, wellness centre and restaurant.
