Festo makes contribution to global sustainability in many places and visualizes this in the "Blue World". We want to express how automation technology can balance the supply of the world's population on the one hand and the protection of our natural resources and climate-neutral production on the other. The “Blue World” illustrates how we are striving to transform industrial production into an efficient and more climate-friendly way of manufacturing. The “Blue path” to sustainable automation sees us, our partners and customers as protagonists and we support through digital tools, energy-efficient solutions and services that save energy. Festo will significantly reduce its CO₂ footprint in the coming years. As a result, all our production and logistics locations as well as the German sales locations and the company headquarters in Esslingen will be CO₂-neutral by the beginning of 2023.To reach this goal, the company invests in its own regenerative energy production and saving measures. Festo will switch to CO₂-neutral energy worldwide and compensate for emissions that cannot yet be avoided for a transitional period - hence the “Blue Forest”.

We take responsibility for our actions globally and locally, and want to use new technologies, knowledge and education to contribute to the quality of life and conservation of resources wherever we operate. We therefore think and act for the long term: this provides not just our employees, but also our customers, partners and suppliers with a firm sense of security. We will massively reduce our carbon footprint over the next two years.As a result, all of our production and logistics sites worldwide will be CO2-neutral from the beginning of 2023. When it comes to reducing product-related CO₂ emissions, Festo focuses on an all-encompassing approach to the CO₂ emissions caused by its products. The design of a machine lays the foundation of the CO₂ footprint at machine level. We support this process first and foremost through free engineering tools. In addition, the key to a carbon-neutral future is to look at and assess CO₂ emissions from the point of view of the product, and then reduce these emissions with innovative solutions.
