Last year we launched our Environmental Policy ‘In Balance with the World’ aiming to support global climate action. We chose to support the restoration of the forests which is the most powerful climate change solution. Trees are natural technology designed to capture carbon, prevent soil erosion, retain biodiversity, and support food production.&nbsp;&nbsp;This year when HAE celebrates its 25th&nbsp;anniversary, our Team in Nairobi, popularly known as the 'Green City in the Sun', is taking over a collective environmental commitment.&nbsp;The HAE Forest&nbsp;will be planted in Kenya in cooperation with Treedom enhancing the planet and supporting local communities. Our Nairobi Team selected the Oaktree as a symbol of our project because&nbsp;just like HAE, the oak tree is indigenously found on all continents. It manifests strength, resilience, unity, wisdom, and&nbsp;honour. At this moment of a terrible decline, we join a story of purposeful recovery. “When we plant trees, we plant the seeds of peace and seeds of hope. We also secure the future for our children” (Wangarĩ Muta Maathai, a Kenyan activist and the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize).
