The Local Organizing Committee of 25th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (25th ICTAM 2020+1_Virtual), to help in paving the way for a green future, decided to plant 200 trees for a Global Forest.Through our forest, we will not only be contributing towards biodiversity, CO2 absorption and supporting local farmers; but it will be a reflection of all the commitment, efforts and passion we have invested into this Virtual Event !Each participant will have the opportunity to contribute personally, by planting a tree remotely!This forest will contribute to reducing the global CO2 emission, protect biodiversity and support the local economy. ICTAM 2020+1 Global Forest

The 25th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (25th ICTAM) was initially scheduled from 23 to 28 August 2020 and should have taken place in Milano.&nbsp; Due to the covid-19 pandemia, the Organizing Committee, together with the Executive Congress Committee and the President of IUTAM, decided to postpone this important event by one year and finally decided to transform the 25th ICTAM in a fully virtual Congress. The virtual event took place from August 22 until August 27, 2021.ICTAM congresses are organized under the auspices of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) and traditionally gather every four years the mechanics community from around the world. These are unique occasions to discuss of science, strengthen relationships, create new contacts and gain a direct experience of the new progresses in mechanics and of the continuously growing field of applications of this ever-green discipline.The Organization of 25th ICTAM-Virtual was supported by AIMETA, the Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano and Università di Pavia, which provided the highly experienced and motivated Local Organizing Committee.
