Since the very beginning, ResQ has strongly believed in the idea that only by networking, by bringing together, by uniting the small and great struggles of those who believe in a better world is it possible to build a more just and equitable future for all. The "People Saving People" Forest, created through collaboration with a special new partner such as Treedom, is one of the many ways ResQ wants to plant more rights for all, on land as well as in the sea.&nbsp;

People Saving People

ResQ is an Italian non-profit organisation founded in December 2019 on the initiative of a group of friends, professionals of various kinds, and which has grown in two years hundreds of members and thousands of donors. Our aim is to help those who risk their lives at sea, fleeing conflicts, persecutions and extreme poverty. In recent years, in Italy and in Europe, we have witnessed a violent campaign of criminalisation of solidarity, which has cast many shadows on sea rescue, considered a 'divisive issue'. We believe that life is a right, that rescuing those in danger of drowning is an ethical as well as a legal obligation, and that saving people can never be divisive. This is why we have decided to add a search and rescue vessel to the civilian humanitarian fleet currently present in the Mediterranean Sea, and to do so together with all the citizens, associations, companies and foundations that share our principles and values. Our ship, the M/V ResQ People, has already rescued 225 men, women and children in 5 different rescue operations. The youngest survivor we rescued was only eight months old.&nbsp;
