We want to live up to this commitment and conviction even more than before when it comes to climate protection.That is why we have made the goal of climate neutrality a central component of our new Group strategy. With the "Zero Carbon" program, we want to further develop SCHOTT into a climate-neutral company by 2030 and become the first climate-neutral specialty glass manufacturer worldwide.Avoid - Reduce - CompensateBased on the principle of "Avoid - Reduce - Compensate," we are pursuing an action plan for decarbonization that comprises four fields of action: Technology change, increasing energy efficiency, switching to 100 percent green electricity and offsetting unavoidable greenhouse gases through commitments to certified, high-quality climate protection projects.At SCHOTT, we do not see our responsibility solely in reducing our carbon footprint. In the future, we also want to contribute to raising awareness and educating people in the context of climate change through various commitments. For us, donating trees as sustainable gifts - for customers or employees, for example - is just one of many conceivable options.
