<p>The Solidea Forest adds an important element to the “Solidea Green Attitude” project, where Calzificio Pinelli aims at encouraging good and environmentally friendly attitudes so that they become well-established habits practiced by everyone.</p><p>It arises in Kenya, which anthropologists consider to be “the cradle of civilization” and which today is a melting pot of peoples, landscapes, animal and vegetal species.&nbsp; The goal is to help the environment and provide new opportunities for local communities involved.</p><p>Clearly, this is not a new initiative, but it is the first time that such a wide-ranging project is undertaken by a SME.</p><p>1400 trees to start with and a long-term engagement to make sure they grow with constancy, protecting biodiversity and reducing CO2, with the related benefits for the entire planet.&nbsp; Fruit trees, in particular, will be tended by small cooperatives of farmers and will help provide food, training, jobs and earnings in the local area.&nbsp;</p><p>A participatory approach that will involve over 5,000 farmers, including women´s groups to support their emancipation and independence.</p>
