Let's start with introductions
The Kermes Oak is a small evergreen tree and usually reaches a height of about 3 meters. With its light and smooth grey cortex, it is easy to tell apart from other oaks. It's foliage composed of dark green leaves that stretch up to 5cm. Over time, some of the flowers make the characteristic fruits of the Kermes Oak. We can find it across almost the entire Mediterranean region. It is planted mainly for its fruit, which can be eaten roasted, for example.
