La forêt The cycling Classics are the most important road races on the men's calendar. Some of these races, all held in Western Europe, date back as far as the early 1900s. They take place every year and are placed in a precise period of the official cycling season. Over the years, the Classics have become increasingly famous and important, above all thanks to the presence of the greatest riders on the world who have written extraordinary pages in the history of cycling. RCS SPORT organizes the most important Classics in Italy. In particular; • Strade Bianche: despite being the "youngest" (the first edition was run in 2007) it quickly became one of the most loved and followed Classics, above all thanks to the dirt sections that the riders face through the breathtaking views of the Tuscan hills surrounding Siena • Tirreno Adriatico: the “Corsa dei due mari” is a race that lasts a week, seven stages that connect the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic Sea crossing the heart of Central Italy. Time trial, sprints, walls, technical descents and big climbs. • Milan-Torino: the history of the Milan-Turin line has ancient origins. On May 25, 1876, eight runners showed up at the start of the first edition of what is considered the oldest cycling race in the world. 147 years have passed since then, but Milan-Turin has managed to survive and even grow over time. • Milano-Sanremo: “La Classica di Primavera” is one of the most famous Classics in the world. A race of almost 300km that breaks loose at the end, between the mountains and the sea, when the group of the first has to face "La Cipressa" and "Il Poggio", two legendary hills that launch them towards the finish line of Sanremo. • The Giro di Sicilia: it is a race made up of 4 stages that crosses the beauties of the Sicilian region, from its crystal-clear sea to the slopes of Etna, crossing the small characteristic villages where time seems to have stopped. • Gran Piemonte: this over 100-year-old autumn Classic crosses the Piedmont region, changing route every year • Lombardy: "The Classic of Dead Leaves" has always been the last Classic of the year. A race traditionally dedicated to climbers given the predominantly mountainous route, where the best runners in the world meet to round off the season in the best possible way.
