Kurinji is a sustainable fashion brand with Indian-Italian roots. The name comes from the purplish blue flowers of Neelakurinji from the Nilgiri Hills region of India that blossom only once in 12 years.This long lasting blooming process confers Kurinji flowers high importance, value and spiritual meaning. 

The Kurinji flower was once abundant in the Western Ghats mountain range, a hotspot of great biological diversity in Indiaʼs southwest. But a triple threat—plantations of eucalyptus and acacia, agriculture, and most recently, tourism—has stripped the grasslands in which Kurinji grows. 
Our brand’s connection with the Kurinji region remarks our care for nature and the attention that we have in preserving our
planet and any of its inhabitants.
