The Forest
Over the past 10 years, GRESB has been working for the improvement of the ESG performance in the real asset industry worldwide. But, as a company focused on sustainability and as a team of people, it is our duty to take care also of our own impact on the environment. For this reason, we have decided to take the step to offset our GHG emissions from our staff flights, office energy consumption and staff lunches for the past decade. We are happy to announce that, to do this, we have committed to creating two GRESB forests via Treedom. We have chosen this alternative because it involves way more than just CO2 neutralization. Many of Treedom's reforestation projects are developed by rural communities in developing countries. This means that the GRESB forests will also represent a job for many farmers and improve the living standards in Kenyan and Guatemalan communities.
Impact
The trees we plant have big ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live in it. That's why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree for the right place and the right purpose. That’s why we think about the medium and long term, because we’re not content with simply planting trees: we want to see them grow.
The trees in the forest will absorb:
379.65 t* of CO₂
